I've seen the canon version bounce from $35 to $46 for a product that should have come with the lens. The hood rotates once you snap it on, and yes its very plastic but so is the canon version. I understand brand loyalty and I am a canon fan, but this business is expensive and you should chose wisely what you spend your money on.
