Lost my lens hood for my 24 - 70mm, and needed a replacement. Buying a genuine Canon replacement was much more expensive, so I tried this lens hood. I found out Canon has black felt on the inside of their lens hood for a reason. When using this lens hood and shooting in the general direction of the sun, light will reflect off the smooth surface inside this lens hood, and create unwanted hazing of your image. This is not shooting directly at the sun, but off to the side. Granted this is not the situation and the majority of shooting situations, and most of the time it's fine. The hood fits tight on my lens, and is not in danger of falling off. My order was delivered quickly, a day ahead of when promised.

Bought this for my Canon 24-70 f/2.8L USM lens. Works great! No 'felt' lining inside, but the matte black finish inside works great. Save $$$.

It's certainly not as good as the OEM hood, but for the price it's going for, it certainly works. Doesn't have the felt like the L series hoods, but since Canon is the only company that does this and they only do it for their L series hoods, you could argue it's not all that important. Anyways, it fits well and the same size and dimensions as the Canon one for a fraction of the price.
